Discover the Beauty of Gem Paintings Series

Gemstones Meaning and Properties

The Gem Paintings combine the natural beauty of gemstones with artistic expression. By using Gum Arabic—sourced from the sap of the Acacia tree—I bring together mineral textures and forms on paper. This technique is deeply connected to my mother's Mashpee family. The vibrant, flowing mineral textures create visually striking pieces that are as unique as the gemstones they represent.  300 or 400 Series Strathmore Bristol Vellum and occasionally homemade paper.

"Nantucket Light” 10 ½ x 14. Citrine ¼ x ¾ and handmade jewelry gold clasp permanently on the painting. This radiates cheerful citrine energy promotes joy, confidence, and positivity while releasing negativity and aiding emotional balance.
