Experience the Tranquility of Whale Wool Paintings
As a versatile Artist, I create wool paintings using a variety of media. This series incorporates New England’s traditional Cushing dyes and Pro Chemical dyes, along with watercolour. The fiber techniques include hand-dyeing and spot-dyeing, and then blending with powder paint mixed media to achieve soft, flowing surfaces. This method gives each piece a sense of movement, with bold, distinct lines and forms. Wool paintings are inspired by whale sightings in Cape Cod Bay and my family’s passion for whale conservation.
Observation of Butterfly Wool Painting
Using Cushing dye with snow is a technique for creating stained glass-like effects on wool using flakes during a dye bath. This method gives each piece a sense of arrangement of wing patterns and their structure. Behind this cloth production involves complex dye pathways in creating vibrant colour with patterns on fiber.

The Atlantic White Shark Wool paintings are inspired by white shark sightings in Cape Cod Bay and my mother's grandfather Hyannis Sea Captain Sherburne family’s historical passion on community education to inspire white shark conservation.

The Gem Paintings combines the natural beauty of gemstones with artistic expression. By using Gum Arabic—sourced from the sap of the Acacia tree—I bring together mineral textures and forms on paper. This technique is deeply connected to my Mashpee family. The vibrant, flowing mineral textures create visually striking pieces that are as unique as the gemstones they represent.
